The two options offer different gameplay experiences

The development team at 343 Industries is busy running the complex Halo 5: Guardians beta stage and the studio is asking gamers to once again choose what content they would like to see coming to the testing phase next, with a choice between Pegasus and Orion offered.

One of the Forge maps will be introduced on January 9, offering players more variety.

Orion is an asymmetrical map which features two towers that offer solid defensive positions and the weapons that gamers can use to dominate the action include the Energy Sword, the Hydra MLRS and the Sniper Rifle.

Pegasus is very different, with a lot of long sight lines that make it easy to attack from distance, but also opportunities to move and flank and strong positions.

Gamers can use the Rocket Launcher and the LightRifle in order to try and move to the high ground and then take out their enemies.

All those who are part of the Halo 5: Guardians beta can now vote and the attached video offers a little more details about both maps.

343 Industries also talks about the first phase of testing and about the Spectator mode, although it is offering no insight into the lessons it has learned so far.

Halo 5: Guardians beta features a bunch of new gameplay mechanics

The development team has introduced quite a few new mechanics to the series, including sprinting and Smart Scope, which are designed to make Halo feel more modern and increase the dynamic nature of the matches.

343 Industries has made it clear that it will make some changes to the multiplayer based on the feedback it receives from the community and on the data that it manages to gather.

Since the Halo 5: Guardians beta was launched, the community has split into a vocal camp that believes the new concepts, with sprint at the top of the list, are bad for the series, and a more silent group that supports those changes and believes they make the experience more attractive.

Gamers will be able to get access to a new mode and maps next week.

Halo 5: Guardians will be launched on the Xbox One in the fall of this year and will also include an extensive single-player campaign which features both Master Chief and Agent Locke.
