It was obvious that one day, Halo 3 too was to reach its Gold status, but it's still very exciting news, you have to admit. In fact, 'Halo 3 Gone Gold' is today's most exciting news as almost every site (handling games of course) has it at the top of the list. Bungie thanked everyone involved with the development of Halo 3 and especially the fans.

As everyone knows by now, Halo 3 had over a million pre-orders in North America alone, set to break day-one entertainment sales records on the 25th of September this year. Here's Bungie's thanks going out to everyone involved with Halo 3:

"We thank you all as well for supporting Bungie Studios in our never ending quest for World Domination and we look forward to sharing another billion+ hours together on Xbox Live when Halo 3 lands in just a few short weeks. The wait is almost over."

And according to Harold Ryan, Studio Head at Bungie, the game is equally important to them as it is to fans. Well, naturally, they didn't do it for free you know...: "This is a huge milestone for us and a big cause for celebration at Bungie and Microsoft Game Studios. This is the game we?ve always wanted to make and certainly the best game our studio has developed. We can?t wait for gamers to get their hands on it on Sept. 25."

OK, just to set the record straight: Halo 3 Gone Gold means that gamers' wait is almost over, as the final chapter in the trilogy has shipped to manufacturing plants. The fact the Halo 3 will undergo the manufacturing process as soon as today means that Bungie was always on schedule with the game. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that they're launching it even sooner than September 25th.
