It's too bad that a game of this magnitude had its ending filmed with the aid of a cellphone, but we'll have to do with that for now. The other alternative would be playing the game and witnessing its ending, but that can't be done right now, not till you buy Halo 3 from your crowded local game store. One might wonder how the video was leaked, but I'm assuming that people bought the game from eBay, as it was available for quite some time and finished it.
Don't you just hate it when people spoil the ending of a movie/game/book by telling you how it ends? This happened to most of the recent games, but there was no hype surrounding such videos, till now... There are many things you should take into consideration before thinking that this whole story is being a bit exaggerated. For starters, Halo 3 is the last part of a trilogy and if you've been waiting for years to see the conclusion of a major storyline, a video like this can make you cry and ruin years of patience.
Also, the leaked ending video might kill many gamers' will to finish the game, as what most of us want, while playing a certain title is reaching the next checkpoint and cutscene. We may be playing for the gaming experience, but in the long run things get boring, so we really need those FMVs to give us the satisfaction of completing missions or levels. What's next?
