About 4 years ago, a hairdresser in Vietnam decided to take part in a game show that required him to cut and style hair using anything but run-off-the-mill scissors.

During this game show, the man traded his pair of scissors for a handsaw. Much to his surprise, he found that he very much enjoyed using this tool to cut hair.

However, he eventually got bored and upgraded to a samurai sword. In time, he learned to manipulate the weapon with stunning accuracy. He can now use it to create gorgeous coiffures.

The ladies love and adore him

This might come as a surprise to some people, but as it turns out, Nguyen Hoang Hung's clients don't mind having him wield a samurai sword around their head. On the contrary, they trust that he will not injure them in any way.

Truth be told, Nguyen Hoang Hung himself admits that using a samurai sword to cut hair is rather tricky. He goes on to explain that it was only after practicing on wigs for a considerable period of time that he finally ventured to cut people's hair.

The sword guarantees a perfect haircut

The Vietnamese hairdresser says that he currently uses a traditional razor-sharp samurai sword that he identifies as a Wakizashi. By the looks of it, such swords have been around since the 15th century, when warriors used them to behead their opponents, Oddity Central informs.

Nguyen Hoang Hung says that, contrary to what some might assume, the sword he uses to cut hair is not all that heavy. Hence, it does not in any way interfere with the quality of his work and lets him cut hair at a pace and speed that suit both him and his clients.

What's more, the hairdresser maintains that it is precisely because he uses this samurai sword instead of scissors that he can create drop dead gorgeous and totally fashionable coiffures.

Interestingly enough, it appears that, at first, Nguyen Hoang Hung only cut hair using his samurai sword during exhibitions and performances. His clients were the ones who eventually convinced him to entirely give up on using scissors to cut hair.
