Since the new Nexus 10 fails to appear, 10-inch tablet lovers could check this model out

Are you tired of waiting for the next-gen Google Nexus 10? Android watchers claimed the device will make an appearance on Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Christmas, CES 2014, post-CES and so on, but we all know nothing of the sort happened.

Possible specs and pictures have been leaked in the wild before, but to no avail, the new Nexus 10 remains somewhere stuck between the realm of imagination and reality.

But if you were really hoping for a new Nexus 10, no need to be bumped out, as the market offers a wide range of possible alternatives which could ultimately save you a lot of money.

For example, take the HaierPad 1043 tablet that, albeit coming from a relatively unknown brand name, is equipped with pretty reasonable specifications. The device was showcased at CES 2014 too, but everyone was probably busy looking for the Samsung-made next-gen Nexus 10 to notice it.

Of course, this product won’t be able to replicate the purported Nexus 10 specs, which are said to be quite spectacular, but some customers might be able to settle for a little less.

The tablet comes with a 10.1-inch IPS display and a full HD resolution (1920 x 1200 pixels) and draws power form a quad-core 1.6GHz processor combined with 2GB of RAM and 8GB/16GB/32GB of internal store (we don’t know if the tablet is equipped with microSD support).

Granted, the specifications won’t knock your teeth out, especially if you compare them with the Exynos 5 processor with 3GB of RAM and 2560 x 1600 screen resolution the next Nexus 10 is supposed to be having, but the HaierPad has a sleek and modern design some users will appreciate.

An obvious down-side to the HaierPad is its insignificant battery life said to be set at around 6 hours, which obviously can’t compete with what’s being offered by the current Nexus 10 or the iPad.

Expect to see this tablet sell for €299 / $407 when it becomes available for purchase in April. Would you settle for it?
