Metalink Ltd., a provider of high-performance wireless and wireline broadband communication silicon solutions, yesterday showcased its latest development - the integration of its WLANPlus 802.11n-draft compliant chip-set into Haier's high definition television sets at the SINOCES show in Qingdao, China, from July 7th-10th, 2006. Furthermore, Haier is now working with Metalink to incorporate its WLANPlus technology into Haier's next-generation television sets, DVRs, DVDs and other consumer electronics products.

"By integrating Haier and Metalink technologies, we have become the first to achieve the 'holy grail' of our industry - wireless delivery of multiple HDTV streams to TV sets throughout the home at wireline quality," said Patrick Tam, Metalink's director of sales. "We are proud to join this world-leading company in establishing a new industry standard, an achievement which secures the leadership position of both companies in the home entertainment arena."

Metalink's WLANPlus, an 802.11n-draft compliant chip-set series, is optimized in order to target most of the requirements of the consumer electronics market segment. Furthermore, as it is compatible with most of the demanding optional specifications of the 802.11n-draft standard, Metalink's WLANPlus technology was designed to enable high-definition video streaming applications throughout the home for a broad range of products such as Residential Gateways, DTV, HDTV, Set-Top Boxes, Media Adaptors and Digital Video Recorders (DVR).

On the other hand, the decision Haier took to launch its product at SINOCES was a strategic one, as SINOCES is considered to be one of the most influential and potential professional fair in consumer electronics industry in China, and this year's edition stood under the theme "3C Convergence & Seamless Life".

The 2005 SINOCES totaled an area of 26500 square meters, and over had 310 companies participant, as the fair has attracted 41,000 specialized visitors, including more than 4000 overseas purchasers.
