According to this screenshot (courtesy of CultOfMac), one guy was apparently able to run a total of 80 Mac OS X applications on an Advent 4211, with both Blender and Daz3D launched. The system, hacked in order to be able to run OS X, boasts an Atom N270 @1.6ghz and 2Gb RAM, according to the list of specs.
Pointing out to a “silly competition” going on between several Mac users competing for the title of Most apps running simultaneously on a Mac, Cult believes the guy deserves some form of credit, having been able to run so many apps on such a low-specced system.
“I’ve been trying to determine Atom’s performances with Mac OS X for some time now, and I think this shows Atom’s netbooks are not so crippled!” the user is quoted as saying. After providing his specs to the author of the piece (Atom N270 @1.6ghz; 2Gb RAM; 80Gb Western Digital Scorpio HDD; OS X Leopard 10.5.4), Jay Pan went on to offer the entire list of applications running at the time he took the screenshot just above. The list of apps is available below in its entirety. Also, click on the picture (above) for a better view.
