The announcement was made today, in a press release, following the news of hackers who have altered students' grades at a Texan high school. The news about the hacking attack led to the investigation of four Hightower students who are presumed to have changed the school grades of approximately 60 students.
The investigation of the four students has revealed that the Fort Bend Independent School District will have to deal with a financial loss of approximately $191,400. It is said that almost 80 school computers have been discovered with malware. It seems that the large amount of money is mainly due to the fact that the graduation day is almost approaching. This means that the school staff will have to work overtime in order to change back the students' grades.
Two of the potential hackers are only 15 and 16-years old and are under investigation due to the fact that their grades were raised after the hacking incident took place. The low age of the two suggests that students will go to almost anything to ensure their academic success. They would have probably gotten away with it if it weren't for the large number of students who had their grades changed.
