Even though the market for nettops is not nearly as large as that of netbooks, or of most, if not all other sorts of desktops, Habey USA decided it would offer Acer some competition by revealing the ENT-6564.

Computers come in many shapes and sizes, can be mobile or non-mobile and can be classified according to the consumer segment they are aimed towards.

As far as desktops go, there is a certain category, that of nettops to be exact, which emphasizes compactness and provides just the performance needed for basic computing tasks.

This includes document viewing and editing, web browsing, some multimedia and any other so-called office tasks one may wish to engage in.

The appearance of the ION 2 GPU (graphics processing unit) from NVIDIA allowed such entry-level PCs, as well as netbooks, access to more advanced multimedia capabilities.

Eager to make use of this versatile GPU, Acer created the Aspire Revo 3700, based on the Atom D525 CPU and priced at $350, and Habey USA has now joined in with its own ENT-6564.

The newcomer runs on the Intel Atom D510 central processing unit, a dual-core model with a clock speed of 1.66 GHz.

This processor is complemented by 2GB of RAM and the aforementioned ION 2 GPU, which has 512 MB of dedicated video memory.

Of course, the system comes with the full range of connectivity and I/O options that consumers have come to expect from any computer.

The list includes Gigabit Ethernet, four USB 2.0 ports, an eSATA connector, D-Sub and HDMI outputs and a mini-PCIe slot.

Said mini PCIe slot is already taken up by a WiFi card which will confer the required wireless connectivity capabilities upon this new product.

The Habey USA ENT-6564 has already been made available for $330 and can be found listed on Amazon.
