HTC and Orange announced at the 3GSM International Congress in Barcelona the new SPV M600 PDA. ?We are delighted to work with Orange as our key launch partner for the latest version of our successful compact PDA platform," said Florian Seiche, Vice President of HTC Europe. ?Partnering with HTC has allowed us to provide our customers with handsets that offer PDA functionality with the mass market appeal of Microsoft e-mail synchronisation," said Yves Maitre, Vice President Devices Orange Group.

The SPV M600 handset runs Microsoft's Windows Mobile 5.0 platform, it supports quad-band EDGE, GPRS, GSM, and offers push email along with other Microsoft programs and functionality expected from a PDA. The device is equipped with two soft buttons that exploit the improvements made to one-handed navigation in the latest version of Microsoft's mobile device platform, while users can still interact with the device through its touch-sensitive, 2.8-inch screen.

With a sleek and compact design the quadband supports Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity and built-in Wi-Fi capabilities (802.11b/g). Regardless of the fact that it only measures 108 x 58 x 18 mm and weighs 148 grams, SPV M600 features a 2 megapixel camera, an SDIO-enabled SD/MMC card expansion slot, a 200 MHz processor, 64 MB of RAM and 128 MB of ROM memory, plus a music player.

Orange claims a standby time of 180 hours and talktime of 300 minutes. Information about its price and availability are yet to be posted on the operator's site.
