HTC's Touch HD was officially launched in late September and, needless to point out, it created quite a fuss at the time, since it was seen as a strong competitor to Apples's iPhone. The Touch HD is a Pocket PC, but more than that, it's a multimedia monster, as it bring more features than HTC's Touch Diamond, and even more than most of the handsets that can currently be found on the market.

Since the moment the official launch was over, people have been rather anxiously waiting for the day when they would get to hold the device in their hands. Good news if you happen to fall in this category, as you won’t have to wait too much anymore. The HTC Touch HD has already been spotted on several websites, listed as available starting November 16, so now you can pre-order it for about 649 Euros or 950 USD.

In case you’re wondering what this device packs, let us have a look at the specs. HTC Touch HD works on 2G network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900, and also on 3G network HSDPA 2100 / 900. Measuring 115 x 62.8 x 12 mm, it can be considered pretty slim, despite the fact that it weighs 146 g. It also delivers a TFT touchscreen, 65K color, 480 x 800 pixel, 3.8-inch display with TouchFLO 3D finger swipe navigation and accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate, together with the touch-sensitive navigation controls and handwriting recognition.

Touch HD sports a microSD card slot, 288 MB RAM, 512 MB ROM, and is powered by a Qualcomm MSM7201A 528 MHz processor. Aside from Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP and the miniUSB, it also offers users EDGE Class 10 236.8 kbps, 3G HSDPA 7.2 Mbps and WLAN Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g. The device runs on Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, and brings a camera with 5 MP (2592 x 1944 pixels), autofocus, video, and another secondary VGA videocall camera. It also packs built-in GPS receiver and A-GPS functions. Other features include TV-out, 3.5mm audio output jack, YouTube client, Stereo FM radio with RDS, Pocket Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, PDF viewer) and, of course, an MP3 player.
