Just recently, we saw the HTC Touch HD overwhelming Apple's iPhone 3G with its large, high-resolution display. Now, the time has come for an official Touch HD walk-through. The Taiwan-based manufacturer of Windows Mobile handsets has released a short video that should let users better study the device and realize that it is, indeed, a unique piece of technology.

Of course, that does not change the fact that it’s not until users get to play around with the HTC Touch HD for real that they will be able tell for sure if the handset fits their needs.

Anyway, after watching the video, the following conclusions can be drawn: thanks to its 3.8-inch TFT touchscreen display that sports a WVGA resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, HTC Touch HD should allow users to experience “mobile Internet like never before.” Also, since it features the TouchFLO 3D User Interface, the HD should make the inter-menus navigation a piece of cake.

GPS navigation should also be a pleasant experience, while viewing images and videos is yet another strong suit of the Touch HD. And, since the new HTC handset comes with a 5 Megapixel autofocus camera, surely there will be lots of images and videos to view.

HTC Touch HD measures 115 x 63 x 12 millimeters, and also features quad-band GSM connectivity (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz), dual-band HSDPA connectivity (900 / 2100 MHz), accelerometer, Wi-Fi, a 3.5mm headset jack, YouTube dedicated player, Pocket Office and extendable memory, all running on Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, of course.

HTC declared, in mid-September, in the official press release that came out with the Touch HD, that the Pocket PC would be commercially available in the next few months, hence before the end of 2008. The retail price of the multimedia handset was not unveiled, but chances are for it to be one of the highest a Windows Mobile device ever had.
