Taiwan-based mobile phone maker HTC Corporation has made available for download a new version of their popular desktop connectivity software, HTC Sync.

The new release, which comes as version 3.0.5511, brings into the equation support for all Android-based devices from the leading handset vendor, this being the main change the company included with it.

“This software is suitable for the following devices : HTC Desire HD, HTC Wildfire, HTC Desire, HTC Legend, HTC Tattoo, HTC Hero ( Android 2.1 ), HTC Hero, HTC Magic, HTC Desire Z,” HTC notes on its website.

Previously, different Android device from the company required different versions of the application, but it seems that HTC decided to put all of them in the same place.

However, the new version of the app might not be compatible with the North American versions of the handsets, though HTC does not say anything specific on the matter.

In case there are some of you yet unfamiliar with what the HTC Sync application is all about, here's what the handset vendor notes on it.

You can use HTC Sync to synchronize Outlook contacts and calendar or Outlook Express contacts and the bookmarks of web browser between your computer and your phone.

It also lets you install third-party Android applications on the phone, and bring your photos, videos, documents, songs, and playlists to your phone.

To download the application, users would have to hit the download link at the bottom of this article.

The software is available only for Windows PCs, and an Intel Pentium III or higher processor, 1GB of RAM or higher, 60 MB of available free hard disk space, and a USB 2.0 connection.

All the necessary instructions on the installation of the device can be found on HTC's support website here. The requirements for this application, as well as info on how it can be used to sync the Android device with a PC can be found there as well.
