For HTC's Android users

Android users owning a device from HTC Corporation have an update software solution available for download on the company's website, namely HTC Sync 2.0.33. Released for all HTC Magic, HTC Hero, HTC Tattoo, HTC Legend and HTC Desire owners out there, the newly updated application enables customers easily connect their handsets with a personal computer or notebook.

“HTC Sync lets you synchronize Outlook and Windows Address Book (Outlook Express), contacts and calendar events on your PC with your phone. It also lets you install third-party Android applications on the phone, and the Mobile Network sharing function as well,” the handset vendor states. “This software is suitable for the following devices : HTC Desire, HTC Legend, HTC Tattoo, HTC Hero, HTC Magic.”

According to HTC, the new software release includes the following enhancements: - Support for new models: HTC Legend & HTC Desire. - Support for Outlook 2000. - Support for Finnish & Portuguese (Brazil)

The new release of HTC Sync can be used with machines running under Windows XP Service Pack 2 and 3, Windows Vista (32-bit and 64-bit versions) and Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit versions). Users should install it on machines featuring at least a 1 GHz processor or 512 MB of RAM. 50 MB of free space are needed for the installation, while a USB 2.0 port is required for connecting the handset.

Those who haven't used HTC Sync before should know that the Synchronization Settings Wizard is set to run automatically. To sync the phone with the PC, one would need to pull down the notifications bar on the device and tap “Synchronize your phone with Windows” to connect with the machine. Those who have previous versions of the application installed on their computers should un-install it before downloading the new release.
