It looks like Three UK will be launching the HTC Sensation XE after all, even though the carrier decided to choose the HTC Sensation XL instead.

However, due to overwhelming feedback asking for the Sensation XE, Three UK has decided to add the smartphone to its portfolio of Android smartphones.

The announcement came via the official Three UK blog and mentions that the news is so hot that the carrier didn’t even have the time to build a “Coming Soon” page for the HTC Sensation XE.

This would be the third ‘Sensation’ device available from Three UK, after the operator launched the original HTC Sensation and the HTC Sensation XL.

Initially the Sensation XE with Beats Audio didn’t feature in our smartphone portfolio for this year. We believed that the Sensation XE and Sensation XL was an either/or decision, but based on your overwhelming feedback we’ve changed our minds. We’ve decided to sell the XE and the XL,” said Sylvia Chind, head of Branded Handsets, Three UK.

The HTC Sensation XE is packed with Beats Audio hardware and Beats headset, which is one of the reasons the phone is aimed at music freaks.

The smartphone is powered by Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread operating system, but there’s a high chance that HTC will upgrade this one to the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform.

There’s also a high-end 1.5 GHz dual core Qualcomm MSM 8260 Snapdragon processor inside, which is complemented by an Adreno 220 graphics processing unit.

The onboard memory might be a problem for music lovers who want to store thousands of their favorite songs, as the HTC Sensation XE packs 4 GB internal memory, but only 1 GB user available. However, storage can be expanded up to 32 GB via the microSD card included.

No word on the phone’s price yet, but Three UK mentions that “it’ll be available on Three in December, and we’ll announce more details when we can.”
