One of the high-end smartphones that Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation is expected to bring to the market in the near future with Google's Android operating system on board is the HTC Runnymede, which is now said to be on its way to the market as the HTC Sensation XL.

The mobile phone was already spotted into the wild a few times before, when it was said to be set to arrive on shelves as the HTC Bass, yet it seems that the final branding of this device will be different.

According to a recent article on Pocketnow, a “reliable source” has confirmed that the new mobile phone will sport a different name than originally expected, and also unveiled that it would include some specific features.

The HTC Sensation XL should pack Beats Audio, and will offer two theme bundles related to this. One of them will include iBeats earbuds, while the other will come with over-the-ear Beats Solo headphones.

It is interesting to note that, although it should sport branding similar with the first handset HTC launched with Beats Audio, the HTC Runnymede is said to arrive on shelves with hardware specifications that are completely different from the original Sensation.

It will pack only a single-core application processor, clocked in at 1.5GHz, while also sporting a large 4.7-inch touchscreen display, the same as the HTC TITAN Mango phone unveiled earlier this month does.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the Sensation and Sensation XE smartphones arrive on shelves with dual-core application processors, and that they sport 4.3-inch screens.

No specific info on the availability of this mobile phone emerged for the time being, but rumor has it that it should be unveiled in early October, during a press event that HTC has already announced. Keep an eye on this space for more info on the new device.
