Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation is reportedly gearing up for the release of a new Android-based mobile phone, a successor for the HTC Sensation, one that would include support for NFC.

Apparently, a company's official already confirmed plans to make the new mobile phone available for purchase sometime in the third quarter of the ongoing year.

As stated above, it should be released as a successor to the recently unveiled HTC Sensation, while sporting bumped up hardware.

Apparently, the same as the HTC Sensation, the new device would come with a 4.3-inch touchscreen display, but specific info on what other enhancements it would include did not emerge for the time being.

One thing that seems to be certain, however, would be the fact that it should pack NFC (Near Field Communication) technology when released.

According to the guys over at Bright Side of News, the new device should be positioned slightly above the recently announced HTC Sensation.

No specific name for this device was unveiled, not exact info on its availability, though it might turn out to be one of the recently spotted HTC Rider and Kingdom handsets.

The HTC Sensation was unveiled to the world with a 1.2Ghz application processor, 1GB of RAM, 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, front-facing camera, 3G, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity capabilities.

The mobile phone was unveiled with Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system on board, and with the new HTC Sense 3.0 user interface on top of it. It would provide support for the latest Google Mobile services, as well as for apps available from the Android Market.

This handset is expected to become the next flagship Android mobile phone from HTC when made available for purchase in June.

What exactly would the new HTC smartphone pack in terms of hardware, beside the said NFC chip, it remains to be seen.
