HTC has announced the approaching Asian release of HTC P3400i, an affordable and stylish Pocket PC targeted at users who need a business-oriented handset, but don't want to pay too much for it.

The P3400i is not a new device in the true meaning of the word, as it is basically identical with the P3400 launched by HTC in Europe back in 2007. The difference is that P3400i comes with Windows Mobile 6 Professional, while the older model runs on Windows Mobile 5.

Among the features of P3400i, we have: a 2.8 inch TFT display with a QVGA (240 x 320 pixels) and 65K colors, Microsoft Office Mobile (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Windows Media Player 10 Mobile, Adobe Reader LE, quad-band GSM connectivity with GPRS and EDGE, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, miniUSB, a 2 Megapixel camera with video recording, handsfree, a 1250 mAh battery (for up to 5 hours of talk-time and up to 200 hours or stand-by time) - all in a case that measures 109 x 58 x 17.65 millimeters and weighs 126 grams.

"We are pleased to introduce yet another product that aims to enhance the mobile experience for the customers," said Jack Tong, Vice President of HTC Asia, in a press release recently issued by the Taiwanese company. "HTC P3400i is the perfect PDA phone for the customer, as it combines a stylish design with ease of use, and offers powerful functions, all packaged at a very attractive price point."

HTC P3400i will be available across Asia starting the end of this month (May 2008). Its retail prices will differ depending on the country. In Malaysia, for example, the device is priced at 999 Malaysian ringgits, the equivalent of about 312 USD, while in Singapore it will be out for 488 Singapore dollars (around 362 USD). The other Asian markets will surely get the P3400i for similar prices.
