As expected, HTC One series of smartphones has just gone live in the UK. Most major carriers in the country are now offering the HTC One X and One S for free on select plans.

The One X and One S are the first HTC smartphones to be shipped with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform on board.

This is a good time for customers who are looking to commit to a new two-year agreement to pick one of these two devices up.

There are plenty of offers on the UK market as all carriers are trying to lure customers with loads of free minutes or mobile data included in their plans.

For example, O2 claims that its new On & On tariff “is the best ever.” This one costs £36 monthly and offers subscribers unlimited minutes, along with the chance to get the HTC One X for free (no upfront fee).

Those who prefer to grab the smartphones on no-term should check out Amazon, which is now offering the unlocked and SIM-free HTC One X for £490 ($780 or 595 EUR).

For much less, customers can choose the HTC One S, which is available at Amazon for only £415 (660 USD or 500 EUR).

Vodafone UK has also announced the availability of the HTC One X and One S earlier today, whilst Three was the first carrier in the country to offer the devices, as the operator has been selling the smartphones since yesterday.

Orange and T-Mobile are the next operators to announce the availability of the HTC One X and One S, as both have officially confirmed they will carry the smartphones beginning April 5.

Other UK-based authorized retailers have started to take orders for the One X and One S and most of these third-party sellers already have the devices in stock.
