Ever since March, it’s been known that HTC is planning to roll out a wearable device of some sort by the end of the year.

This information got re-confirmed when HTC showed up on the official partner list for Google’s recently launched OS for wearable, Android Wear.

We didn’t have a lot of information about what HTC might be cooking up, but lots of us got excited. Now information coming from Asian media (via TkTechNews) claims HTC is slowly but surely gearing up to release a smartwatch product.

Sources providing the information actually say HTC is demoing the device in Taiwan, at the moment, but we have no pictures or a video to show you. Nevertheless, we can tell you its name, at least. According to word on the street, HTC’s new baby will tentatively be called One Wear.

The new intelligent time-piece is supposed to arrive on the market somewhere between August and early September 2014, but dates may vary.

Furthermore, the report goes on to mention that the HTC watch will heavily rely on the design of the yet-unreleased Motorola Moto 360 smartwatch. Also, HTC might follow in Samsung’s footsteps and its Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo, by offering two versions of the device, one coming with metal coating and the other with polycarbonate.

While the report doesn't specifically mention Android Wear as default operating system on board, this part is almost sure. But taking into consideration that the watch is going to look similar to the Moto 360 and HTC has been listed as one of the official partners for Android Wear, there’s no shadow of doubt in our minds.

Anyway, it’s good to see some of the much-anticipated HTC upcoming products are starting to surface in the press

The company has been focusing on its smartphone business, so far, but it has apparently recognized the need to expand its business into other fields.

We’ll remind you that HTC is supposedly the company behind the production of the upcoming Google Nexus 8, a tablet expected to arrive with high-end specifications, like a 2K display.

A while ago, speaking in an interview, HTC CEO Peter Chou revealed the company was working on a tablet said to be released at the “appropriate time.”

He didn't mention whether he was talking about the Nexus 8 or a stand-alone HTC altogether, although the latter scenario would certainly appeal to a lot of us, given that company is known for designing gorgeous products.
