HTC’s latest flagship smartphone, the One has yet to make its entrance on the market. However, things seems to be going very well for the Taiwanese handset maker, as pre-orders for HTC One hit new records in various countries.

Even though the smartphone has been recently delayed in the UK for late March, HTC One will be launched in the United States as previously scheduled, so T-Mobile, AT&T and Sprint customers should not worry they won’t get their devices on time.

With less than two weeks until its official launch on the market, HTC One is among the most popular smartphones soon to hit shelves.

Digitimes reports Chinese language newspaper Economic Daily News cites Jack Tong, HTC vice president for North Asia, who said HTC One pre-orders via Chunghwa Telecom hit new records in Taiwan.

According to Tong, “HTC has been ramping up its production of the new HTC One and will see tangible results in April.”

HTC One will be competing with Samsung’s recently announced Galaxy S 4, which is expected to go on sale in late April / early May.

For the time being, the Galaxy S 4 seems to destroy all other Android smartphones available on the market thanks to its Exynos 5 Octa chipset that packs two quad-core processors.

Nevertheless, HTC One is a powerful smartphone as well, as the phone comes equipped with a quad-core Qualcomm APQ8064T Snapdragon 600 processor clocked at 1.7 GHz, accompanied by an Adreno 320 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.

The phone also boasts a 4.7-inch Super LCD3 capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 2 coating.

Last but not least, the HTC One packs 32GB/64GB of internal memory and a 4-UltraPixel rear photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording.
