The apps can be installed on non-HTC smartphones as well

One of the highly appealing features that HTC’s new One (M8) smartphone was announced with last week was Sense 6.0, a brand-new flavor of the popular user interface.

The Taiwanese mobile phone maker announced the smartphone with various software enhancements included the new UI, as well as with a series of updated applications, while also unveiling that it would bring them to other phones too in the near future.

In fact, the company said that these apps would be soon released on non-HTC smartphones as well. These apps already emerged in Google Play Store, right before the launch of HTC One (M8).

The one thing that HTC has not announce as of now is when exactly owners of other Android devices, both made by HTC and by other mobile phone makers out there, receive the apps, but it should not be too long before that happens, that’s for sure.

Those who do not want to wait for the company to officially push these apps to them, however, can now manually download and install them, it seems.

Enthusiasts have managed to extract them from the Sense 6.0 UI and also put the .APKs up for download online, as this thread in the XDA-Developers Forum unveils.

Some of the apps that have seen this treatment include HTC Service Pack, HTC Sense TV, HTC Zoe, HTC Gallery, HTC Blinkfeed Launcher, and HTC Music. Libs and framework files required by Gallery and Zoe are also available for download.

Uses interested in taking these apps for a spin should keep in mind that some of them might not work on their smartphones. In fact, the HTC Blinkfeed Launcher appears to still pose some problems at the moment, with feeds failing to load.

Apparently, Android users interested in trying these apps on their handsets will be able to install them without root, as a post on AndroidGuys reads.

However, they should keep in mind that these are not official releases, and that they might also cause some issues on their handsets, especially if HTC designed them differently for its HTC One M8 than it would have had if they were aimed at a broader audience.

You’ll be the only ones held responsible in the event that something happens with your devices when installing leaked software on them.

The HTC One (M8) Sense 6.0 apps can be found up for grabs on the aforementioned thread in the XDA-Developers Forum.
