The unlocked version of the smartphone was supposed to launch this week

Bad news for those who wish to purchase the unlocked HTC One in the UK, as the smartphone has been delayed one again.

All major retailers across the country have updated the estimated ship date of HTC One for the end of this month or even early May.

Obviously, the issue comes from HTC’s part as the company does not seem to be able to secure enough components for its Ultrapixel camera, which is embedded into the HTC One smartphone. Then, there’s the whole manufacturing process that takes a lot longer in HTC One’s case.

Customers who have already pre-ordered the unlocked HTC One from various UK-based retailers will have to wait a few more weeks in order to receive their devices.

For example, Expansys now claims that the Silver HTC One 32GB will arrive in stock on April 29, while Carphone Warehouse has not even listed the SIM-free variant yet.

Unlocked-Mobiles has the phone on pre-order and states that it should start shipping on April 5, which is clearly a mistake.

Last but not least, this is what Clove UK had to say about its HTC One stock:

“Silver HTC One – Silver units currently have an approximate dispatch time of 14-21 days from date of order. All orders are being shipped in chronological order as soon as we have stock available.

Black HTC One – First stock delayed until early May.”

Those who really want to get the HTC One now and do not mind committing to a new two-year agreement can buy it via any major carrier in the UK.

The phone can be had for free on select plans, but other deals are available as well. Obviously, the HTC One can also be purchased on PAYG (pay as you go) for £500 / €585 / $765 plus a £10 / €12 / $15 top-up.
