Owners of the HTC One smartphone in the United States will soon get a taste of the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system on their devices, it seems, skipping the Android 4.2.2 update, just as previous rumors on the matter have suggested.

As Android Central notes, the info comes from Jason Mackenzie, president of global sales at HTC, who has confirmed on Twitter that the move will be made for all flavors of the device, including the Developer Editions, carrier-branded, and unlocked versions.

“We definitely care and want you to have great experience. 2.2 is minor update so decided to go straight to 4.3,” he said in a tweet.

Furthermore, he has confirmed that all device versions will be upgraded to the newer OS flavor before the end of September.

“Our plan/target (since certification is necessary) is that all US SKUs will be updated before September end,” he noted.
