HTC’s next Android flagship smartphone, the One has just been confirmed to arrive in India in April. The smartphone was officially announced last month and is likely to go on sale in some countries as early as March.

Although HTC India did not unveil any details regarding the phone’s pricing options, word is HTC One will be available for purchase for no less than Rs 40,000 ($730/€560) off contract.

According to AndroidOS, the smartphone will be offered by Indian carrier Reliance Communications, along with some bundled data packages.

However, customers in India should not worry they will not be able to pair the phone with other Indian networks as HTC One will be sold unlocked.

HTC One is the first smartphone to bring the Sense UI 5 into the mix, though the Taiwanese company confirmed the new user interface would be pushed to several older models as well.

It is also worth mentioning that it will be among the first to come equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 600 processor clocked at 1.7 GHz.

Other highlights of the smartphone include: Adreno 320 graphics processing unit, 2GB of RAM and 32/64GB of internal memory. HTC One does not feature microSD card slot for memory expansion, so the default storage should do.

On the back, the device boasts a 4 ultrapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while in the front there’s a secondary 2.1-megapixel camera for video calls.

Another strong point of the phone is the stunning 4.7-inch Super LCD3 capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 2 coating.

Last but not least, HTC One is packed with a slew of connectivity options, including LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, DLNA, GPS with GLONASS and microUSB. Beats Audio technology is integrated as well.
