There have been many rumors claiming that the next HTC flagship smartphone will be packed with a fingerprint sensor and the information seemed to be confirmed by the leaked pictures showing the M8’s rear casing.

Well, it looks like the previous rumors were wrong and the HTC M8 will not feature a fingerprint sensor. Instead, the smartphone will be packed with twin cameras.

The first live picture with the alleged HTC M8 has just leaked via @htcfamily_ru and confirms that the device features two rear-facing cameras. The picture also shows that the device comes packed with dual-LED flash and the same metallic unibody as the HTC One.

Unfortunately, we still don’t have live pictures of the HTC M8 showing the smartphone’s front side, so we can’t tell for sure whether it will lack the capacitive buttons or not.

According to the latest hearsay, HTC M8 is expected to be officially introduced during a dedicated event sometime in March. The press conference has been tipped to take place in New York, but the information has yet to be confirmed.

Aside from the fact that it comes with twin cameras on the back, we also know that the HTC M8 is likely to sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset, which is a major improvement in comparison with the HTC One that packs the 600 model.

We also expect one of the rear cameras to be higher than 4-UltraPixels. The smartphone is rumored to boast a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that should support full HD (1080p) resolution.

Given the leaked picture, we also suspect that the HTC M8 will look pretty much like the HTC One, which is not necessarily a bad thing.

That’s about all we know about HTC’s flagship smartphone, but we suspect that more details will emerge as we’re getting closer to launch. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
