Samsung and HTC have apparently come up with the same prank

It might be one of these freaky coincidences, but apparently the folks over at HTC have thought of pretty much the same April Fools’ Day joke as Samsung.

So they, too, are attempting to make fun of what’s hot in tech today, namely wearables. The trouble is, they have come up with a similar Samsung Fingers concept.

Anyway, HTC introduced the Gluuv, something that appears to be taken out of a Robocop movie. This is a massive glove that appears to be made of aluminum which has been designed to integrate the new HTC One (M8).

HTC says the wearable “lets you unleash your imagination and communicate in ways you’ve always wanted.”

So, you basically have a huge smartphone strapped into an oddly looking astronaut-sort of glove. The Gluuv has been created to cater to the needs of DJs who need to keep the party alive. Grab the HTC BoomBass handle with the HTC Gluuv, which will allow for sound to activate and be streamed like never before.

Charging the HTC BoomBass is super easy, all you have to do is carry it on your shoulder with the HTC Gluuv and voila, you have the power. Changing tracks is done smoothly, as you get to switch from one artist to the next by virtue of simple taps.

HTC encourages you to make your presence felt by virtue of sound, giving you the incentive to be “bigger and louder with the powerful duo.”

While Samsung’s Fingers features an unimpressive 16MP camera for snapping selfies, the HTC Gluuv is equipped with a massive 87.2MP that allows users to capture life’s beautiful moments when they happen. Take advantage of the Bokeh effect, while you’re at it, too.

HTC jests the Gluuv offers a “tiny” experience, while the HTC One Sense-powered full-feat set display boasts an HD 1080P resolution.

Social media is also an integral part of this concoction. HTC aims to revolutionize how you experience Facebook, so imagine you’ve just had a delicious cappuccino at this particular pub, you’ll be able to “like” it on Facebook just by giving it the thumbs up.

The Gluuv doesn't look like it stepped out of a Robocop movie for no reason. Apparently, the wearable can double as a self-defense device you’ll definitely want to have around if you ever find yourself in a Blade Runner-reminiscent décor.

Joke aside, HTC CEO has confirmed just last week the company is working on a real-life wearable, to be released “at an appropriate time.”
