14 DAY TRIAL // Taiwan-based mobile phone maker HTC released on Thursday a new software solution for one of its most popular handsets on the market, the Android-based HTC Hero. According to the company, the new update for the device comes in the form of ROM Version 2.73.61.66, and has been released only for the HTC Hero available in the UK via wireless carrier Orange.
“An updated ROM is now available for HTC Hero customers to download. As always, HTC is committed to providing customers with the best possible mobile experience,” is all that the company has to say about the new software solution for the Android-based mobile phone. However, since the new software is already available for download via the handset maker's website, users can find out on their own what the upgrade brings along.
Those willing to go ahead and install the ROM upgrade on their HTC Hero handsets should first make sure that the solution has a newer version than the one already available on the phone. To do so, one will have to go to Home > Menu > Settings > About phone > Build number, where they will find the version of the software running on the device.
The installation process is a simple one, and users need to make sure that they have HTC Sync installed on their computers, and that the mobile phone is connected to the computer via the USB cable.
