T-Mobile and Microsoft have just announced an interesting promotion that will brighten the winter holidays. Customers who wish to buy a Windows Phone 7 phone will be able to get another one for free, as long as they choose the HTC HD7

The extra HTC HD7 smartphone could make as a nice gift for Christmas and won't even require the customers to pay for it.

Of course, the BOGO (buy one get one free) offer comes at a price, as customers will have to activate a new qualifying family plan and a two-year contract.

The limited-time offer starts on November 26th and expires on January 18th 2011. Devices must be purchased and activated in one transaction on the same account. Customers are limited to two free devices per account.

It is unclear if the carrier has any plans of making the same offer with another Windows Phone 7 device in its portfolio, or it will maintain the current BOGO offer until it expires.

HTC HD7 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250 1 GHz processor and runs on Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 platform.

The device comes with an impressive 4.3-inch S-LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors support  and 480 x 800 pixels resolution, accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate and proximity sensor for auto turn-off.

The device boasts 16GB internal memory, 512 MB ROM, 576 MB RAM, but it lacks a microSD card slot for memory expansion.

Other key features of the phone include: HSDPA 7.2 Mbps, HSUPA 2 Mbps, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, 3.5 mm audio jack, GPS with A-GPS support (Bing Maps), Digital compass, Dolby Mobile and SRS sound enhancement, 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, dual-LED flash and video recording capabilities (720p).

The smartphone's 1230 mAh Li-Ion battery is rated by the manufacturer for up to 6 hours and 20 minutes of talk time or 310 hours of standby.
