Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation announced not too long ago that it would soon launch on the market a new handset powered by Microsoft's recently released Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system, the HTC HD2, and now a series of new details on the phone's multi-touch capabilities have emerged into the wild.

The HD2 has been known on the Internet as the HTC Leo, and most of those who followed this handset might know already that it was expected right from the beginning to turn into a very attractive high-end phone. With a wide touchscreen display and a powerful processor, it seems that the handset's fate was written already, and the latest videos that emerged into the wild with it seem to confirm just that.

The first clip available at the bottom of this article shows how the HTC HD2 can handle multi-touch in the built-in Internet Explorer Mobile. Up until now, Microsoft's ZuneHD was the only device that came with multi-touch capabilities for the IE, yet now Windows Mobile enthusiasts can rejoice learning that a soon-to-be-launched mobile phone sporting the OS will also include these features.

The video came from the guys over at Techblog.gr and shows that the device performs fast enough, even when it comes to multi-touch zooming, as well as when rendering and screen rotation are involved. Multi-touch was something that HTC HD2 was rumored to come with for a long time, and it is rather comforting learning that the features are indeed present with it.

And to make things even more certain, one should take a look at the second video available below, where the HTC HD2 displays multi-touch capabilities in applications that were not actually designed for such a feature. The iGo GPS Navigation map is one of them, and you can see multi-touch zooming being performed easily on the phone. Let's hope HTC won't make us wait too long before it delivers the HD2 to the market.
