The first half of the next year is set to deliver to us an appealing series of mobile phones from the Taiwanese handset vendor HTC Corporation, both running under Google's Android operating system or under Microsoft's Windows Mobile platform. Among these devices (HTC Bravo, HTC Legend, HTC Trophy), there is also an Android-powered HTC Expresso, and a series of screenshots with its user interface have recently emerged into the wild for your viewing pleasure. The handset has been rumored at a certain moment to be slated for an MWC announcement in February next year, and that it will arrive on the market as the successor of the highly popular HTC Hero, with the mention that, unlike the already available device, the successor is expected to provide a physical QWERTY keyboard too. These details on it emerged soon after a 2.1 ROM for the Hero leaked into the wild, and now the screenshots from the Italian site hdblog.it come to confirm in a way the earlier predictions.

The HTC Sense solution that can be seen in the alleged screenshots with Espresso's display is similar with the one present on the Hero, though there are some novelties too. Something that Espresso should land with, and future Android device from HTC too, is direct access to People from the bar along the bottom of the screen. At the same time, it seems that HTC thought of placing some translucent surrounds on the app icons, something that is not exactly the HTC style, one should agree.

No other details on the phone's software solution or on its specifications list emerged for the time being, though it might not be too long before additional details become available, especially since MWC is only about two months ahead. Until more info on the HTC Espresso will be unveiled, take a look at the shots below to make an idea of what the phone might offer when launched.
