Last week, Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation announced the availability of a new Android-based smartphone on the airwaves of wireless carrier Sprint in the United States, the HTC EVO 3D, but it seems that the company is working on a GSM flavor of that device as well.

The said mobile phone has just made an appearance on MobileCityOnline, where it is listed as available for pre-order for $699.99.

What should be noted is that the leading handset vendor did not unveil specific info on the price tag that HTC EVO 3D might feature at Sprint when made available for purchase later this year.

However, the retailer lists the new device as available for $699.99, which would be $100 less than the usual $799.99 price tag this device is said to actually sport.

No exact confirmation on the release date for this mobile phone emerged for the time being, but, based on what Sprint and HTC announced, we can say that it might not be here for the next few months.

The GSM flavor of this handset would fit European networks, but HTC did not offer details on the matter either, although the retailer lists the EVO 3D with Quad Band 850/900/1800/1900 connectivity capabilities.

Chances are that the new device would indeed arrive on shelves in other markets outside the US too, but that it would be released under a different name, most probably included in HTC's family of Desire handsets.

MobileCityOnline lists this device with a 3D S-LCD capacitive touchscreen on board, 5 Megapixel readr Cameras, 1.3 Megapixel camera on the front, and support for HSDPA 900 / 1900 / 2100.

Moreover, the new device would sport Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, WiMAX 802.16 e, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot capabilities, as well as Bluetooth v3.0 with A2DP, EDR, and a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.
