Yesterday, Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation announced the release of two new devices on the market in the United States, both set to land on Sprint's airwaves, namely the HTC EVO 3D and the HTC EVO View 4G.

While the latter is a version of the HTC Flyer tablet PC, tailored to fit the carrier's 4G WiMAX network, the former is the first smartphone from HTC that arrives on shelves with 3D capabilities.

The handset was unveiled during a special event held at the CTIA Wireless expo in Orlando, Florida, and should become available for purchase at the wireless carrier sometime in summer.

This is not the first smartphone to arrive on shelves with 3D capabilities, but it is the first one to arrive from HTC, following the launch of LG Optimus 3D, which should arrive in the United States as Thrill 4G at AT&T.

Being the first such device from the company, it was only natural that the first video ads for it would be focused on this special feature that HTC packed it with, and this is exactly what you would see in the video embedded at the bottom of this article.

According to HTC, the new device would be capable of offering users the possibility to easily create their own 3D world.

The mobile phone sports dual 5-megapixel cameras, that would support recording of both usual and 3D content, including photos and videos. The handset would record in HD quality, 2D at 1080p and 3D at 720p.

Moreover, the handset comes with a 4.3-inch glasses-free 3D display, so that users would be able to view specific content while on the go.

All these are powered by the 1.2 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon application processor HTC included inside the device, complemented by 1GB of RAM, and 4GB of internal memory, as well as a microSD memory card slot.

Sprint did not unveil a specific release date for the new HTC EVO 3D smartphone, nor exact info on its pricing.
