HTC announced the upcoming availability of its selfie monster smartphone last week, the Desire Eye. Among the features the new Android top-tier handset has packed, it also brings some high-quality imaging features that are not available for any other HTC smartphone.

Along with the new smartphone, HTC also announced that the new imaging capabilities available within the Desire Eye will be delivered to other HTC smartphones via software update.

The so-called Eye Experience has already been pushed to HTC One M8 smartphones, but since this is a staged rollout, it will take some time until it reaches all units out there.

Nevertheless, the One M8 will not be the only other smartphone beside the HTC Desire Eye to receive this Eye Experience, so here is a list of devices expected to receive the update: HTC One M7, HTC One E8, HTC One mini, HTC One mini 2, HTC One max, HTC Desire 816, HTC Desire 829 and HTC Butterfly 2.

Those who own one of the HTC smartphones mentioned earlier will get several new imaging features with the Eye Experience sooner or later.

In order to know what you can expect from Eye Experience, HTC released several videos that show some of the features included in this package of imaging capabilities.

The new imaging features will only be available on HTC smartphones

One of the new features to soon be available to a wide range of HTC smartphones is called Face Tracking. It will provide the smartphone’s camera with the possibility to track up to four faces during a video chat and make sure that the subjects remain within the camera’s angle of view for a better picture.

Another interesting new feature that’s been included in Eye Experience is called Split Capture, and according to HTC, it provides users with the option to set the camera to record the action with both front and rea-facing cameras at the same time. But that is not all, as users will also be able record the action first and then record a commentary if they want to.

With Face Fusion feature, the smartphone that includes Eye Experience will be able to make use of two photos, such as a selfie and a photo of a favorite celebrity, and merge them together.

Three more features have been included in the Eye Experience, such as the Voice Selfie feature that allows users to take a picture or video selfie by saying “Cheese” or “Action,” and Living Makeup. The latter smoothens the subject’s skin before taking a selfie.

Last but not least, HTC users who own an Eye Experience capable smartphone will be able to take advantage of the Photo Booth option, which allows them to takes 4 selfies and merge them into a single picture.
