Recently, we've stumbled upon a series of reports on a HTC Desire HD ROM

that emerged into the wild, and a few new details on the matter have surfaced, including the fact that the said software was ported to DROID Incredible, HTC Desire, or HTC EVO 4G, and that it enables fast boot on them.

In case you are wondering how fast, the answer is simple: only a few seconds from the point where one hits the power button on the phone to the moment when the home screen appears, and the video below should prove that.

We already had the chance to take a look at the said ROM ported to HTC HD2, a Windows Mobile 6.5-based device, but things are said to be working even better on these Android-based handsets.

Of course, since we're talking about a ported ROM, one should expect for some issues to be present there, reported for all three handsets, namely DROID Incredible, Desire, and HTC EVO 4G.

Among what is not working on these phones, we can count camera support, and Wi-Fi connectivity, as well as 4G capabilities for the last of the three.

However, the solution still works pretty well, not to mention that it is fast and stable, which suggests that we might soon learn of even more improvements brought to it.

The video below won't offer info on how the ROM works on the HTC Desire, for example, but it will who you how fast the handset can boot following the installation of this Desire HD ROM port.

According to a recent post on forum.xda-developers (via Engadget), some of the novelties the ROM brings forth include:

- 3 second bootup time - htc hub lets you download multiple themes - htc apps now support landscape - pinchzoom browser will take you to the windows veiw - pinchzoom home screen and long press one of the windows (lets you move around the window) pretty cool
