Taiwan-based mobile phone maker HTC Corporations is readying a new Android 2.2-based smartphone, the HTC Desire HD, which is expected to be unveiled officially on September 15th, during a London event. Although unannounced, the handset already emerged on Amazon UK, with a price tag of £415 attached to it.

The latest rumors regarding HTC Desire HD's September unveiling might prove true in the end, at least this is what the Amazon listing suggests, even if it has been pulled down since.

Of course, nothing is certain until HTC steps up and makes the long rumored HTC Desire HD official, but the emergence of this device on Amazon's website should be seen as a strong proof the the phone is getting closer to being introduced to the world, as slashgear notes.

Moreover, the Amazon listing and HTC's announcement regarding a press event on September 15th seem to come in line pretty well. The device would ship from Amazon UK itself, the listing reads.

The HTC Desire seems to be shaping up in the device that most users out there have been looking for, both in terms of functionality and performance.

Among the leaked specs for the upcoming mobile phone, we can count a 4.3-inch touchscreen display, a powerful application processor, and Google's Android 2.2 Froyo operating system.

Amazon lists this product as HTC 99HLZ001-00 ACE/Desire HD, which is also in line with previous rumors that Desire HD's codename would be Ace, and that it is nothing else than the European version of HTC EVO 4G, without the 4G connectivity part.

If priced at £415, just as Amazon notes on its website, the HTC Desire HD should easily become one of the most popular Android-based devices on the market.

Undoubtedly, since the phone's launch is so close, additional info on HTC Desire HD would emerge before the official announcement, so stay tuned for more details on the matter.
