If you though that the One M8 for Windows would be the only smartphone that HTC would bring on the market this fall, then think again. Shortly after introducing the said device at Verizon Wireless, HTC sent invitations to an event scheduled for September 4.

The press conference will take place in Berlin, Germany, during IFA 2014 trade fair, which is a clear indication that HTC plans to launch at least one other device for the remaining of the year.

We shouldn’t rule out the unveiling of the international version of HTC One M8 for Windows, but there’s a high chance that this event will be about mid-range smartphones mostly.

The folks over at G for Games have just spotted the first teaser of an unannounced device that will probably be launched as HTC Desire 820. The teaser shows the 820 number over some randomly taken picture of wildlife, a rocket being launched, a sports car while racing, a thunderstruck, and a speed boat.

Aside from the said teaser that’s been spotted in China via Weibo, there’s not much we can tell about the upcoming Desire 820. However, there are rumors that HTC’s mid-range Android device will be among the first to come equipped with a 64-bit Qualcomm 615 chipset.

Qualcomm has recently announced that the first smartphones powered by 64-bit chipsets will be launched on the market very soon. Judging but this chipset’s configuration, we’re certain that most of them will be included in mid-range handset, which is why we believe that there’s a high chance that the Desire 820 will be one of the first equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 system on chip.

If the information proves to be accurate, then we’re looking at a Desire 820 that will be armed with an Adreno 405 graphics processing unit and an octa-core processor (four 1.8GHz Cortex A53 cores and another four 1GHz Cortex A53 cores).

The configuration of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 chipset has already been confirmed by the manufacturer, but other than that we don’t know much about HTC Desire 820.

It will be interesting to see whether any of the 64-bit chipsets launched by Qualcomm will be included in Windows Phone handsets or whether they will remain an Android affair, at least for a while.

Here is hoping that HTC Desire 820 will be another popular Android smartphone that will boost the Taiwanese company’s revenues, just like the HTC One M8. Anyway, take the information with a grain of salt and stay tuned for more updates on this one.
