One of the smartphones that are expected to make an official appearance later this week is the HTC Desire 820, which has been teased starting last month as the first phone from HTC Corporation to land on shelves with a Snapdragon 615 chipset inside.

The new Qualcomm platform is based on a 64-bit architecture and should provide users with appealing performance capabilities, mainly courtesy of four 1.8GHz cores that are complemented by four 1.0GHz cores.

This is not the first 64-bit smartphone from HTC, as the company has already launched another such device, the Desire 510, which arrives on shelves with a 4.7-inch touchscreen display and with a quad-core processor inside.

As GSMArena notes, in addition to these Cortex-A53 processors, the chipset also includes the latest-generation Adreno 405 GPU, yet another great selling point for the upcoming smartphone.

However, this is only one of the appealing features that the upcoming device is expected to include, as rumor also suggests that it will land on shelves with a 5.5-inch touchscreen display, supposedly capable of delivering a 720p resolution.

On the back, the new mobile phone will sport a 13-megapixel camera, most probably capable of recording videos in full HD resolution.

Additionally, HTC is said to have included an 8-megapixel camera on the front of the smartphone, which should make it a great option for those users looking to snap great selfies with their devices, or to make high-quality video calls while on the go.

The hardware specifications list for HTC Desire 820 is also expected to include 1.5GB of RAM, along with 8GB of internal memory. Most probably, the mobile phone will also include a microSD memory card slot, which will allow users to add some more storage space to it.

As can be seen in the allegedly leaked photos with this smartphone, HTC will release it with about the same design as the one for the Desire 816.

In fact, the new handset resembles so much the already available smartphone that this makes us wonder whether the aforementioned images (available courtesy of ortud) are the real deal or not. Take them with a grain of salt for the time being.

One thing that is certain, however, is the fact that Desire 820 is indeed coming, especially since both HTC and Qualcomm have been teasing it for the past few weeks.

Specific details on the matter will be provided in a matter of days, so keep an eye on this space to learn additional info on the upcoming mobile phone.
