The smartphone is expected to hit shelves next month

Although HTC promised that it would launch fewer devices this year, the company seems to have decided otherwise in the meantime.

Some photos of an unannounced DROID Incredible 4G smartphone leaked last month, but the name of the handset was unknown at that time.

Just by looking at the pictures, we can definitely say that this has nothing to do with the HTC One series of smartphones.

When it comes to design, the DROID Incredible 4G looks pretty much similar with the older Incredible S and DROID Incredible 2 smartphones.

Fortunately, the former comes with an improved hardware and software configuration, including better processor, memory and operating system.

The DROID Incredible 4G scored 58.20 in NenaMark2 thanks to Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz. The powerful CPU is complemented by the latest Adreno 225 graphics processing unit.

Furthermore, the smartphone sports a hyper-vibrant 4.3-inch qHD AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports 540 x 960 pixels resolution.

On the inside, the DROID Incredible 4G packs 1GB of RAM, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB). There are no details on the amount of storage yet, but hopefully it will come with at least 8GB of internal memory.

In addition, the device is said to boast an impressive 8-megapixel camera on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash and HD video recording. There’s also a secondary VGA front-facing camera for video calls.

Software-wise, the DROID Incredible 4G might be the first HTC smartphone to be shipped with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system out of the box. Aside from ICS platform, another selling point of the device would be LTE support and Beats Audio.

Rumor has it that HTC DROID Incredible 4G is expected to arrive at Verizon Wireless in late April for a price that will be disclosed in due time.
