With only a few weeks left until HTC One series of smartphones makes its entrance on the Indian market, the Taiwanese company has started to slash prices on some of its premium devices still available in the country.

According to AndroidOS, HTC Incredible S and Desire S are now priced lower in India at various major carriers across the country.

Initially launched in India one year ago for Rs 28,900 (570 USD or 425 EUR), HTC Incredible S is now available at Saholic for only Rs 20,020 (395 USD or 295 EUR) off-contract.

HTC Desire S was officially introduced in India one month after the Incredible S and was available for Rs 25,490 (500 USD or 375 EUR). However, starting today, customers will be able to purchase this one via Saholic for just (370 USD or 275 EUR) outright.

Both smartphones come with Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform with HTC Sense UI on top, and pack a 1 GHz single-core processor, complemented by Adreno 205 graphics processing units.

They even feature the same amount of memory: 1.1GB of ROM, 768MB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

The main difference between the two devices is the display and camera. While the HTC Incredible S boasts an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, the Desires S sports only a 5-megapixel main photo snapper and a VGA secondary camera.

In addition, the Incredible S sports a large 4.0-inch Super LCD capacitive touchscreen, whereas the Desire S comes with a slightly smaller 3.7-inch Super LCD capacitive touchscreen display.

It is also worth mentioning both displays feature Corning Gorilla Glass coating and support 480 x 800 pixels resolution.

For the time being, the smartphones are available at a reduced price only from a single Indian retailer, but others may soon follow.
