Even though Telus has yet to improve its lineup of Android devices, the carrier is still one of the major players on the Canadian market.

While other major carriers such as Bell introduced or are about to add some of the best dual-core Android smartphones to their lineup, Telus is now preparing to debut one of HTC's mid-entry handset, the HTC ChaCha.

Customers who are not looking for a Samsung Galaxy S II, Motorola ATRIX or HTC Sensation, but prefer to experience an immersive social network experience can give the ChaCha a try.

According to the guys over at MobileSyrup, the HTC ChaCha is most certainly en-route to Telus, but no release date has been disclosed yet.

Those interested in getting one of the Facebook phones will probably be able to get the HTC ChaCha via Koodo Mobile as well.

Other information confirmed is the fact that the ChaCha will be delivered with a hardware upgrade, which means that the smartphone will have a 800 Mhz processor on board, instead of the 600 MHz CPU that appeared in the official announcement back in February.

In addition, it appears that the HTC ChaCha will run Android 2.3.3 at launch, though the manufacturer originally announced it would be delivered with Android 2.4.

The HTC ChaCha is meant to offer its users the ultimate Facebook experience thanks to the dedicated button that lets users instantly share almost anything with their friends and complete social networking services integration.

Unlike other Android bar smartphones, the ChaCha features a traditional QWERTY keyboard that makes it easier to text.

The handset packs 512 MB ROM, 512 MB RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

The rather small 2.6-inch multi-touch display supports 262k colors and 480 x 320 pixels resolution.

The smartphone sports an average 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and face detection, as well as camcorder and secondary VGA front-facing camera for video calls.
