We already know that Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S 4 Pro chipset will be packed in future Android 4.1 Jelly Bean devices. However, we’re still not sure what company will launch the first smartphones and tablets to be equipped with this powerful chipset.

Qualcomm’s chipset was launched in the US several days ago and benchmark results were impressive to say the least.

The new quad-core processor beats everything that’s currently available on the market, and then some.

Rumors on the alleged HTC device powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset surfaced several weeks ago, but it seems they’re a bit inaccurate.

Apparently, initial rumors claimed the HTC device would pack an Adreno 350 graphics processing unit, which does not exist. Either it was a simple typo or the information was inaccurate it’s hard to say.

Anyway, the folks over at KnowYourMobile have been tipped off on an upcoming HTC device, smartphone or tablet, which is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset, which embeds a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor and an Adreno 320 graphics processing unit.

Qualcomm claims its next-generation Adreno 320 GPU is four times more powerful than the previous Adreno 225 graphics processing unit, which is now packed inside HTC One S and One XL smartphones.

In addition, the company confirmed the first Snapdragon S4 smartphone would arrive on the market at the end of the year, which comes in line with the latest hearsay pointing to a possible HTC announcement at IFA 2012. The trade fair is set to kick off on August 31, but HTC has yet to confirm any launch events during IFA 2012.

In the same piece of news, Sony Mobile is also expected to launch at least one device powered by Qualcomm’s S4 Pro chipset, but we don’t have any additional details for the moment. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
