Today, HTC Corporation has announced the launch of a new initiative aimed at HTC owners in the United States, called HTC Advantage and addressed to users who end up cracking the displays of their devices.

This is the first service of the kind to have been launched in the United States, the company explains, adding that the initiative is expected to provide users in the country with with great benefits when investing in a new mobile device.

HTC notes that the new HTC Advantage was launched as the company’s commitment to customers who are interested in receiving the best support for both the hardware and the software of their devices.

The program applies to the vendor’s latest handsets out there, namely the HTC One, HTC One mini, and HTC One max, and involves a free one-time cracked screen replacement during the first six months following the purchase.

As HTC puts it, even if the industry has evolved a lot in the past few years and smartphones are more durable than before, many users still end up cracking the screens of their devices. HTC Advantage, which becomes available today, is destined to remove the frustration of having to pay for a new screen.

“We recognize that people spend good money to buy smartphones. Creating premium products that offer customers the best and latest has always been the HTC way, and now we’re carrying that commitment beyond the handset purchase to ensure customers remain satisfied beyond day one,” said Jason Mackenzie, president of HTC Americas.

“In line with our history of firsts, we want to be the first to protect the investment customers make in our premium devices, and have created a new position of vice president of Customer Experience to oversee this commitment as well as the launch and evolution of HTC Advantage.”

HTC also notes that it is committed to providing users with software updates for their Android-based devices in due time, and that the release of Android 4.4.2 KitKat with Sense 5.5 via various carriers in the United States should confirm that.

“HTC was the first in the U.S. and Canada, outside of Google-owned companies and Google Play editions of devices, to begin delivering KitKat to its customers,” the company said.

“HTC Americas has also proactively committed to upgrade the HTC One mini and HTC One max to KitKat in the coming months, allowing consumers with the HTC One family of smartphones to receive continued support from HTC and the latest operating system (OS) innovation.”

As for the new HTC Advantage initiative, it is available in the United States today and applies to new purchases of devices in the HTC One family, as mentioned above. Unfortunately, the company did not mention whether the service would be released in other markets out there as well.
