Mobile phone carrier Cellular South is reportedly gearing up for the launch of its first handset powered by Microsoft's Windows Phone operating system, and it seems that this might happen as soon as today, and that the HTC 7 Pro might be the device in question.

Rumor has it that the new device might be launched today with the price tag of $199.99 attached to it, upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement.

This would make the HTC 7 Pro as expensive as the other Windows Phone 7 devices out there are at their wireless carriers (though Amazon would have them on sale almost for free).

No specific info on what the new mobile phone would pack inside has emerged until now, but it should include the same specifications as the original, that's for sure.

The Windows Phone 7-powered QWERTY slider was already launched in the United States, on the airwaves of Sprint, under the name of HTC Arrive.

The mobile phone was launched with a 3.6-inch touchscreen display on board, complemented by the said keyboard, and with a 1GHz application processors hidden beneath it.

The fast CPU is complemented by 448 MB of RAM, and 512 MB of ROM, along with no less than 8 GB of internal memory, though there is no possibility to expand it via a microSD memory card slot.

The specs list of this device would also include a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with auto focus and flash, as well as with support for 720p HD video recording.

The Windows Phone 7-based device also sports Wi-Fi: IEEE 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1 with Enhanced Data Rate capabilities, as well as 3G connectivity, and built-in GPS receiver.

Other specifications of this device would include a 3.5 mm stereo audio jack, 1500 mAh battery, and access to the usual set of services Microsoft put in place for its WP7 devices.
