HP announced a certain device that could very well reduce the expenses that businesses have to deal with by actually lowering the number of computers necessary for continued company operation.

It is quite common nowadays for businesses to offer each employee their own working system, but this can lead to high expenses.

Considering that the computers of today actually have performance levels more than high enough to handle multiple tasks at once, a new possibility was raised.

Basically, the idea came that it should be possible to have multiple users share the same system.

HP created a way to put this idea into application and gave it the moniker of HP t200 Zero Client for MultiSeat.

Essentially, this item allows up to 15 users to share the same system while still feeling as though they had their very own PC in front of them.

It should be ready for work straight out of the box and the press release names the HP Compaq ms6200 Series Desktop host computer as the intended 'mainframe.' The USB interface is used for the communication between the PC and the MultiSeat clients.

Small and medium businesses are the ventures where HP expects the t200 to have the greatest impact, once it becomes available worldwide next month (November, 2011). The starting price is $99 (74.14 Euro).

“The HP t200 Zero Client provides additional scalability to our HP MultiSeat Solution, making it an ideal solution not only for small businesses and classrooms, but also training, healthcare and manufacturing environments,” said Jeff Groudan, director, Worldwide Thin Clients, HP.

“As the global industry leader in thin clients, HP continues to innovate simple, flexible, affordable thin computing solutions that deliver rich, productive user experiences.”

Physically, the HP t200 Zero Client is about as big as a deck of cards and consumes 3 watts of energy. Businesses will just have to buy the monitors and peripherals.
