Since January, when Carly Fiorina announced that HP intends to update its iPod line, nothing has been heard about this product, and analysts rushed to warn that sales will significantly drop if HP doesn't come with new models.

But HP wanted to prove that its involvement on the iPod market was not only circumstantial and after launching the first PC with docking station for iPod and with preinstalled Apple iTunes, the company has announced two new iPod Photo models. The model with 30GB will cost 349 USD and the one with 60 GB will cost 449 USD.

The pricing policy is the same as Apple's, HP trying to differentiate its players by introducing HP Printable Tattos.

This service allows users to personalize their player with logos, drawings or images that are printed at optimum dimension to be applied to the iPod. More information on this subject at www.hp.com/music.

The price for a set of 10HP Printable Tattos is 14.99 dollars, and users can create such Tattos using their own images.

HP's players are shipped with a USB cable for computer connection and with a audio-video cable for displaying on other screens.

HP will continue to commercialize the black and white version of the iPod at the same price of 299 dollars, and the new products will be send to retailers next week at the latest.
