It would appear that HP has not forgotten about the enterprise IT market, having prepared a new addition to its line of workstation, one that was designed in a smaller form factor than most.

HP might be the world's greatest supplier of personal computers, but its portfolio of products for the business and enterprise market is massive in its own right.

Of course, this is because the outfit has been making it a point of periodically unleashing some new and improved product or series of electronics.

The most recent such release is of a workstation that will become the newest addition to the Z series.

Dubbed HP Z210, it comes in either a convertible mini-tower (CMT) form factor or even in a SFF (small form factor) chassis, 65% smaller that is.

The Intel Xeon E3 and second generation Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 processors are available as options during the configuration process, leading to performance gains of up to 20% over previous-generation offerings.

Meanwhile, AMD ro NVIDIA graphics cards of the professional variety handle the video side of things.

“Built for professionals, HP Z210 workstations with the new Intel Xeon processor E3 1200 family are changing the definition of the entry-level workstation,” said Anthony C. Neal-Graves, general manager, Workstation Unit, Intel Corporation.

“This processor’s greatest innovation is how it integrates the CPU and graphics engines on the same die. That means visual and 3-D graphics capabilities that were once only available to entry workstation users with discrete graphics cards will now be accessible to anyone with an entry workstation powered by the Intel Xeon E3 family with Intel HD Graphics P3000.”

Set to be available this spring, the HP Z201 CMT and 210 SFF will have starting prices of $659 and $569, respectively.

“An increasing number of customers in fast-growing market segments are turning to HP Z Workstations to meet the increasingly sophisticated demands of their businesses,” said Jeff Wood, director, Worldwide Marketing, Workstations, HP. “The new HP Z210 Workstations meet these demands and demonstrate HP’s leadership in the market.”
