The appeal of Yoga-type devices seems to be a great occasion for PC manufacturers. Granted, the Lenovo device proved to be quite successful among users, so the competition is now trying to lure customers away with similar products.

It’s the case of HP that has just introduced a bunch of new devices for the back-to-school period, including two new convertibles whose screens can be rotated with 360 degrees, going by the names of Envy x360 and Pavilion x360, notes SlashGear.

Convertibles aren't exactly new territory for HP, which in February launched its first Windows laptop that can become a tablet by virtue of folding the screen back.

The original Pavilion x360 arrived with an 11.6-inch display and sold for the affordable price tag of $400 / €293.

Now HP is pushing out a new model of the Pavilion convertible, one that comes with a larger screen, improved features and of course a chunkier price-tag.

So, the new Pavilion comes with the more spacious display of 13.3-inches. In the hardware department, there’s a wide choice of processors being offered, including an AMD A8 or Intel Core i3 chips.

According to the company, the AMD models should start appearing in early July with a starting price of $630 / €462, while the Core i3 models should make an appearance later in July for around $600 / €440.

Nevertheless, if you want a Pavilion x360 in your life now and you can’t be bothered to wait until July, you should know the 11.6-inch model with an Intel Pentium N3530 Bay Trail processor is currently available for purchase for $400 / €293.

As for the second convertible, unveiled this week, it goes by the name HP Envy x360 and arrives with a 15.6-inch touchscreen display.

HP has taken out the AMD processor choice here, but it still allows customers to opt between Intel Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7 processors fitted with 8GB of RAM and backed up by 1TB of storage.

The notebook’s screen can be folded back and be used in tent mode, presentation mode or tablet mode, but bear in mind you won’t have the sleekest gadgets on your hands. In tablet mode, the Envy x360 weighs 5.8 pounds / 2.6 kg.

The HP Envy x360 will be made available for customer purchase starting mid-June for around $680 / €499 and up, depending on the configuration. The model will be made available in silver.
