As expected, the HP TouchPad tablet is now available for pre-order from various major retailers, including HP's webstore.

Two versions of the tablet are now available for purchase, a 16GB model and a 32GB version, both of which are Wi-Fi only.

Customers who wish to purchase any of the two HP TouchPad models can pre-order the tablet from Best Buy, Amazon, Staples or HP.com.

Wi-Fi only HP TouchPad 16GB can be acquired for $499.99, while the 32GB version can be bought for $599.99. In the UK, the tablet can be purchased for 399GBP and 499GBP, respectively.

Although none of the retailers state the exact release date of the tablet, it is expected that the HP TouchPad will ship around July 1st.

HP TouchPad runs HP's webOS 3.0 operating system for staying connected and productive on the go.

The new tablet allows users to multitask and switch through multiple apps open at the same time and group them in card stacks.

With HP Synergy users will be able to automatically synch contacts, calendars, messages, photos, and e-mail from sources like Facebook, Google, and Microsoft Exchange

Thanks to the manufacturer's 'Tap to share' technology, users will be able to receive text messages and answer calls on their TouchPad or Pre 3 by bringing the devices together.

Keeping multiple e-mails open at once is also possible, thus users will be able to see work and personal messages together or separately, as well as scroll their inbox in one pane while working on an e-mail in another.

The tablet is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core processor APQ8060 clocked at 1.2GHz speed and comes with a 9.7-inch capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors and 768 x 1024 pixels resolution.

Other highlights of the tablet include: Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR and A2DP connectivity, 1.3-megapixel camera with video-calling capabilities and integrated GPS with digital compass.
