Ever-mindful of the environmental footprint that any technological product leaves behind, HP has refreshed its product line with an offering that promises to help businesses reduce their impact on the environment, even while boasting a high performance and reliability. These green solutions, the Compaq 8000f Elite and 8100 Elite series desktops, includes configurations that are durable, strong and made to “support a low-carbon economy.”

“HP continues to exceed customer expectations with a range of business products designed with both the environment and productivity in mind,” Stephen DeWitt, senior vice president and general manager, Personal Systems Group, Americas, HP, said. “With great designs, energy-saving features and efficient, faster-performing products, customers can feel confident choosing HP products to better position themselves in the ever-competitive business world.”

The HP Compaq 8000f Elite Ultra Slim Desktop PC is the size of a ream of paper and has a power efficiency 30% better than that of previous models. It is ENERGY STAR and EPEAT Gold qualified (regardless of configuration) by the use of 87% energy-efficient power supplies. In fact, not only is the 8000f's PSU 80 PLUS gold-certified but the HP Power Assistant Software can push energy usage to even lower levels.

The performance of the computers is assured by the Intel Core or Core vPro processors. Not only that, but the systems are totally free of brominated flame retardants (BFRs) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC). TheCompaq 8000f is the industry’s first Microsoft Windows-based desktop PC to achieve such a feat.   End-users interested in acquiring any of the 8000f Elite series desktops and wishing to be green all the way may also purchase 19-inch and 22-inch BFR/PVC-free monitors with zero mercury. These displays use WLED low-power-consumption backlit panels, are ENERGY STAR 5.0 and TCO 5.0 certified and EPEAT Gold (Compaq LA22f) and EPEAT Silver (HP Compaq LE19f) registered.

The HP Compaq 8000f Elite and HP Compaq 8100 Elite start at $849 and will become available in the United States on February 1. More Information on the products may be read on the company's website.
